 The Urban Assembly School for Careers in Sports infuses education with energy and enthusiasm that sports inspire in many youth. The school enhances its rigorous college preparatory curriculum with insights from athletics-how historical advances in sports, for instance, have reflected the progress of the civil rights and women's rights movements, or how athletic excellence illuminates and tests the limits of human physiology. UASCS instills in students the ambition, the discipline and the skills to succeed in sports-related careers such as marketing, management, law, medicine, journalism and broadcasting.

Since 2006, the UASCS has had a graduation rate of 89%. UASCS graduates currently attend such collages as the University of Pennsylvania, New York University, Fordham University, Ithaca College, Lehman College and City College. UASCS students can earn free college credits through the College Now Program at Hostos Community College and the Jumpstart Program at Monroe College. Over 85% of current ninth, eleventh and twelfth graders are matched with a mentor through the iMentor program. UASCS has received an "A" on its last two school progress reports. |
