The Urban Assembly School of Business for Young Women fosters the
development and growth of young women who are socially conscious and think
independently. The school prepares them to become business leaders by exposing
them to many areas of business and a variety of career options, and teaches them
how to compete and succeed in a diverse, ever-changing business environment.

SBYW students participated in a school-wide public speaking competition hosted
by Time Warner.
Students participated in Smith Barney’s stock portfolio curriculum and presented
stock portfolios to financial advisers at Citigroup’s headquarters.
The school has an Agents-of-Change community service program that includes
such events as an AIDS Walk, NYC Cares Day, and several School Clean-Up
Days.
Students attend monthly power luncheons exposing them to professional
workplaces and career women and, as part of an etiquette curriculum, a dining
etiquette luncheon at the National Arts Club.
