The Urban Assembly School for Design and Construction appeals to students with an interest in architecture, engineering, design and construction by enriching its challenging academic program with the active involvement of architecture and design professionals and partnerships with cultural institutions and universities. In addition to integrating the themes of architecture and engineering throughout the curriculum, UASDC takes advantage of its location in New York City to expose students to architectural landmarks and building sites. Students leave UASDC not only prepared to succeed in college but appreciating and understanding the built environment that surrounds and shapes them.

UASDC students have taken architectural tours of not only New York but Paris, Rome and Florence.
Working with the Center for Architecture Foundation, a school partner, UASDC students have designed entrances to a New York City subway station, bridges, hotels and emergency container houses.
UASDC is the only school in New York City and one of only five in the nation to receive an Advanced Placement Program Startup Grant from the College Board.
