The Urban Assembly School for the Urban Environment prepares young people for college and careers by using real-life issues in the environment around them to teach students to think carefully and critically about themselves, their community and their world.

Working with the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment and Project STRETCH, sixth-graders created a virtual walking tour of their neighborhood, while seventh-graders have published a self-guided walking tour of Newtown Creek
Sixth-graders study neighborhood air quality.
Every UASUE student must earn six credits of community service in order to be promoted.
UASUE students can learn how to repair old bicycles, assemble new ones, and earn a bike of their own through a partnership with Recycle-a-Bicycle.
