The Urban Assembly School for Wildlife Conservation engages students in a challenging academic curriculum where the theme
of wildlife conservation is integrated throughout the core subject areas. In addition, students take a second science
class that focuses on wildlife conservation topics. In every classroom, students ask questions, learn how to find
answers, test their results, and publicly present their work just as scientists and other professionals do in the
real world. UASWC is committed to supporting each student’s goal of attending college or university, and becoming an
adult with a clear sense of personal purpose to effect positive change in the world.

UASWC students engage in field studies and research at the Bronx Zoo, and at local and state Parks. The Bronx Zoo’s
living exhibits are extended classrooms where students learn about and participate in local, national, and global efforts
to conserve the natural world.
UASWC students engage in college and career exploration, and enrichment activities through collaborations with our dynamic
partnerships with institutions of higher education, community, local and national organizations.
UASWC students use cutting edge classroom technology that broadens their learning opportunities, bridging the classroom
not only to other schools but to professional institutions and organizations across disciplines.
