For two weeks in May and June, The Urban Assembly College Readiness Team hosted the 2015 Bridge to College - College Coach Trainings for 100 NYC public school alumni. The trainings were held at CUNY Macaulay's Honor College and City College and included alumni from Urban Assembly Schools, New Visions Schools, CUNY and the Young Women's Leadership Network schools. Training topics included college affordability, youth centered counseling, financial aid steps, FAFSA completion and CUNY applications.
Bridge to College is a signature Urban Assembly program created to ensure college-bound UA alumni matriculate after high school graduation. Through the Bridge to College Program, the Urban Assembly has achieved a consistent 75% college matriculation rate for its alumni within six months of graduation, and nearly 80% within one year of graduation. In 2010 the network of schools witnessed a 10% point jump in matriculation rates because of the program. LEARN MORE
